Billing and Accounts
No, our memberships are not refundable under any circumstance.
In addition to the discounts we give for 7-month or longer commitments, we also offer the following discounts:
Battle Buddies: When you sign up with a family member or friend, pay for the first member and get 25% off all other memberships.
Active Police, Fire, Military and Teachers: 35% off any plan.
Our Specialty Programs such as: Tactical, Corporate and other job-related courses, are charged per program.
If you need to cancel your membership, contact us before your monthly renewal date.
Note: We require that you give us email notice of cancellation before your membership renews. We do not give retroactive credits for unused portions of your monthly membership.
We accept all major credit cards.
All membership payments are due on the anniversary. For example, if you signed up on the 20th, your account will be charged on the 20th of each month.
A membership is considered late and delinquent should payment not be received by the 5th day and will be cancelled on the 10th.
No! The standard forms, like liability waivers, are required – but we do offer month-to-month pricing. That means on any month-to-month plan you can cancel your membership at any time without penalty, and take up knitting instead.
We also offer 12-month commitments with pricing discounts.
Absolutely! And, unlike other training centers, because we do our own member management, it’s as easy as sending us an email or letting us know in the studio.
Sure! We love meeting new friends.
- We have a drop in fee of $25 for out of town visitors or offer a week-long pass for $50.
- Local friends interested in joining are always welcome get the ball rolling by clicking here.
- Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign a waiver and get an introduction to our studio.
You may find that we do things a little differently than your gym back home. We hope that you enjoy the change in scenery, clientele, maybe even music. If anything makes you uncomfortable, however, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
With the base membership, you are free to come and go during operating hours whenever you want and use our studio and equipment to do your own thing.
It may appear that way at first. However with Combat Mindset, instead of walking into an anonymous gym by yourself and training completely on your own, your programming is done for you by our certified trainers, who coach you and work with you every session.
You get one-on-one feedback, motivation, and instruction each and every class. Given this scale, the reality is that this is actually personal training—which is usually $75-$120 per hour for a certified trainer—at a fraction of the cost, our rates are actually much less expensive than any comparable training.
We know you may have a lot of choices on where to workout. What’s best…

We’d actually encourage you to ask a different question. What are your goals? Personalized attention? Trained, professional coaches? Accountability? Working out with a group of like-minded people who cheer on your success? If the answer to any of the above is “yes”, then we’d encourage you to check us out.
No. Personal training is available to both members and non-members.

This varies from client to client based on the number of sessions per week they have signed up for with their trainer, as well as how faithful they are about following instructions their trainer has given them for cardio and/or calorie consumption away from the studio.
Most clients will see significant results within a few months of beginning their personal training program.
We understand that every family or individual must plan personal training within their budget. Most of our members work with their trainer 2-3 times per week for strength, core and flexibility training, then follow their trainer’s instructions for additional cardiovascular exercise on non-training days.
However, when a once-per week personal training program is necessary from a time or budget constraint, the trainer will design a program for you to follow between appointment times to ensure you continue to progress in meeting your fitness goal.
If you’re just starting up, we recommend coming three days/week for your first couple weeks, then build to four, then five. Once you’re up to five days per week, we recommend building in two recovery days per week.
Yes, you can bring the whole family! We ask that you keep them off the training floor during classes. This is for their safety and the safety of other members. If your child will not sit still long enough for this to happen, we will have to ask that you make other accommodations.
We love kids and families, but we want everyone to be safe!
Our normal studio hours are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
Personal training sessions are by appointment only and our trainers each have a variety of appointment openings and class times. Generally, we can accommodate clients as early as 5:00 a.m. and as late as midnight 7 days a week.
Your first time in, we want you to feel comfortable.
One of our awesome team members will give you a tour of our studio, we’ll sit down with you and walk through your goals, we’ll do a quick fitness assessment with you, and we’ll walk through what you can expect.

We call our gym a studio to set it apart from your run-of-the-mill fitness center.
We are different. Combat Mindset offers our members a personable experience with awesome equipment, but rest assured even if it was empty, you would still get a great workout.
The activities we do in the studio will make you a better person. If it doesn’t make you stronger, faster and a more solid person – we didn’t waste any time or money on it. Fitness should be fun – but it should also give you the results you want.
If it’s not, you won’t want to do it!
We ask everyone to be on time for class as much as humanly possible and here’s why.
Each hour is led by a skilled coach. It’s their job to get 8-15 people warmed up and safely through all of the assigned tasks in one hour. If you come in 20 minutes late, you are not receiving a proper warm up and could miss important parts of the instruction.
Your coach will be worried about your safety because they know keeping you healthy is (in part) their responsibility. We understand traffic happens, and once you are a seasoned vet you will be able to warm yourself up without missing a beat should you be a few minutes behind on occasion.
Combat Mindset is for anyone, regardless of their age or fitness level. Our members have ranged from professional athletes and members of the law enforcement, special operations and grandfathers in their mid-seventies to desk jockeys with barely enough hand-eye coordination to use a mouse.
In short, if you care about health, real-world performance, or just want to look better naked, Combat Mindset is for you.
No, no, no, no.
This is the most common misconception about Combat Mindset. Yes, it has a reputation for being hard, but all of our workouts will be scaled and modified to accommodate whatever level of fitness you’re at now.
The very first thing you will discover is that Combat Mindset does not discriminate. Whether you are young at heart, or have just completed your 50th marathon, or are recovering from injury or healing a broken heart, whether walking the dog is the only exercise you’ve had in years, or you’re someone training for the Iditarod…We will help you achieve your fitness goals.
Don’t decide you have to get in shape first to come here to get in shape. That’s a recipe for never starting. We work with all kinds of people in all kinds of shape. And that is an enormous source of pride for us and you can only start where you are, so start.
Don’t be misled by the pictures you see of body builders. Strength training two or three hours a week will never increase body mass to a “bulky” state.
Competitive body builders spend many hours every day lifting weights.
While we are not physicians (and we highly recommend you discuss any workout program with yours), we do find that many of our members have successfully used Combat Mindset programs to rehabilitate from injuries.
Because people continue to move, work, and play in the real world regardless of injury history, we believe the best route to long-term health is to learn perfect form on functional movements, and to slowly build strength in those movements, rather than to avoid them altogether.
Our instructors are always happy to work with you to scale and substitute exercises and tailor workouts to your abilities. That said, we cannot offer you specific medical advice, and advise that you consult your physician before starting this (or any other) exercise program.
The classes at Combat Mindset are infinitely scalable, which means they can be tailored to members at any level of fitness. Whether you are an athlete or a soccer mom, you’ll be able to complete 100% of any of our classes.
Also, our coaches will demo the scaled versions of every movement before the workout.

There is a certain level of danger in any exercise as well as significant danger associated with NOT doing exercise. Combat Mindset is focused on providing people results while minimizing the risk of injury. We minimize risk by coaching our athletes through three phases.
- Mechanics: This means that you first need to do the lifts correctly.
- Consistency: This is the ability to do the lifts over and over again using safe and efficient technique.
- Intensity: Once you have established safe and consistent technique we move on to intensity. Intensity is the ability to do the movements quickly
In addition to providing an environment that stresses good form, we work to provide our members with a wide variety of workouts. By varying the type, weight, and duration of our workouts we prevent the overuse injuries that often occur in other sports.
Just yourself. And basic ‘workout clothes’: shorts or sweats, a t-shirt, a towel, sneakers. We provide everything else.
Our classes are different every day but we generally follow a basic format.
First, your coach will lead a small group warm-up. For instance, a few rowing intervals, or some mobility drills. Easy stuff.
The ‘meat and potatoes’ of the group class, though, is the main workout. You’ll start as a group; the resulting atmosphere is enthusiastic co-support.
Each new member gets a quick introduction to the concepts behind Combat Mindset. You’ll then learn perfect form on a couple of simple, functional movements, which you’ll piece together into a real Combat Mindset workout, to give you a taste of our approach.
We promise you’ll be totally fine. Trust us.
However, if you’re still nervous about the studio, feel free to drop by and talk with our staff who will show you around a bit. You can even observe an on-going class to get an idea of what Combat Mindset is like!
Strength training is critical for permanent weight loss. When we lose weight by dieting and cardiovascular exercise alone, our bodies do not differentiate between lean mass and fat. Therefore, the caloric deficit we have intentionally created to lose weight has caused us to lose muscle as well as fat.
Since lean mass (muscle) contributes to metabolism, you will not be able to sustain your new lower weight unless you continue to consume very few calories.
By keeping a healthy balance of body fat and muscle, we can eat a healthier amount of food without regaining weight. Additionally, the toning effect we can achieve from strength training will help minimize a “flabby” appearance often seen after significant weight loss.
No, unless you want to work to gain mass. This is a common concern for many of our new members.
In order to get “bulky” you would need to do all of the following:
- Eat an extremely high calorie diet: Athletes focused on putting on muscle mass often consume in excess of 3,000 calories a day.
- Concentrate lifting very heavy weights: While our members do spend some time picking up heavy weights, it is only a portion of our workouts and part of a much larger fitness program.
- Be genetically predisposed to adding muscle: Women especially, are not hormonally predisposed to add large amounts of muscle.
Combat Mindset follows a balanced platform incorporating aspects of cardio, endurance, and weightlifting. Our general programming will make you stronger. Combining the training with attention to diet, you will lose or gain weight according to your fitness goals.
